My better side is my Nurtured side

My Photo
Name:

I am the Mother of two beautiful grown-up daughters, married to a gentle, caring man for 35yrs and live in the same house we had built in 1976! I love my home, my garden andall my furry chidren (who do not know they are animals!) Two cats, two dogs - in fact the one cat thinks he is a dog too! I am a Victorian Tea Parlour Hostess (and owner) since hospitality, baking and cooking, nurturing and feeding come naturally to me - it makes sense that this is an option to follow. I am currently writing 3 books, a historical novel, an autobiography and a tale about my cat (Sir Tiggermus, who thinks he is a dog!) I have co-ordinated several wedding functions as well as provided the floral arrangements - one of my first loves! Besides all this, I am an avid crafter and sewer. And, I enjoy interacting with people of all ages. Special to my heart are children, of kingergarten age - whom I was lucky enough to interact with for 5 wonderful years - at a nearby school as a teacher/caregiver! My heart and soul are fulfilled with many joys and a vast array of talents. The newsest of these being my new entrepreneurship - my own Tea Room!

Fickle fate!

I decide to open the Tea Room of my dreams - and in walks fate, after a quick visit to the doctor - literally only half a day - and both hands appear bandaged to the 2nd knuckles  - Bandages! on both hands!  No baking, no carrying trays and no matter how I dress the hands are still evident!  That's fate for you - as fickle as can be.  With months of preparation fading away behind me - I now have to patiently sit out a couple (make that a couple, of couple, of couple of...) weeks till my hands are all good to function again.
Such is Life - it can play some very cruel tricks on one!    Still, it was a necessary procedure - so I shall simply bide my time - I shall be that much better at my hostessing when both hands function well! In the meantime, I read recipes, (itch to bake!) and deliberate on changing menus...
All crafts, well out of my physical reach I page through books, envy friends who use their fingers adeptly -while I fumble with every function imaginable. It's a novelty to be served the tea,  to  w a t c h,  instead of participate!
And, there is a lesson (somewhere..) to be learnt  here,  in that too!
